Karen Sadaghian Scholarship

Karen Sadaghian was an outstanding dietitian who practiced in many areas of nutrition, including the New Mexico State Department developing teaching units to educate others in nutrition for children with special needs.

In her memory, the New Mexico Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics will hold the Karen Sadaghian Symposium and present one $500 scholarship to a deserving graduate student enrolled in nutrition studies in a New Mexico University at the graduate level or in a dietetic internship.

The application process must include:

1-    An Unofficial transcript

2-    Hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher

3-    Send a resume including work and volunteer experience

4-    A letter stating why you entered the nutrition field and your goals for the future.

Your application must be emailed or postmarked by Feb 28th.

The recipient will be awarded the scholarship at the symposium on March 4th.

NMAND Scholarships

New Mexico Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NMAND) has two $750 scholarships available for New Mexico Nutrition Students. The completed application must be postmarked by February 20, 2015. Scholarships are awarded at the Annual meeting. For more information please contact our Nominating Chair.

2015 Application

Undergraduate Student Scholarship Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a student officially admitted to a nutrition/dietetics program at a New Mexico school.
  • Applicant will be enrolled as an undergraduate next year.
  • Applicant will be a resident of New Mexico.
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Be a student member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Graduate Scholarship Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be officially admitted to a graduate program or internship at a New Mexico school.
  • Applicant will be enrolled as a graduate/intern next year.
  • Applicant will be a resident of New Mexico.
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater.
  • Be a student member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
